A Letter For You

What is the path to God about? The path to God is about the heart. It’s not found simply in rituals and ceremonies, in meditation or asceticism. It’s about the heart, and our compass for the journey is God’s word, the Bible.

God’s word, the Bible.

So let’s go, shall we?

for fall have sinned and fall short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23
None is righteous, no, not one – Romans 3:10
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men5 because wall sinned – Romans 5:12

Every person, every one of us, has done something wrong. We’ve stolen, embezzled, hurt, and wronged others. We’ve lied, deceived, abused, committed adultery, gossiped, and envied.

Even if we didn’t believe that the sin of Adam brought to ruin the entire human race, we still must concede that none of us are actually without sin. Sin is everything that does not accord with God’s standard.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

Because of our sin, our penalty, what we deserve, is judgment – is death. An eternal death that is everlasting separation from God, an existence without good, kindness, peace, love, mercy.

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10:9-10

We’ve been directed, steered, if you will, to Jesus Christ. Jesus, born of the Virgin Mary, was born without sin, without blood corrupted by Adam’s sin. He never sinned, and because of this was he was able to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Jesus was crucified, buried, and on the third day God raised him from the dead. He had paid the price for our sins, demonstrating the love and righteousness of God.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. – Romans 10:13

This is the last sign, the last stop on the path to being with God. You’re almost there – reach out!

Now, say this to God: Lord Jesus, I thank you that died for me on the cross. You sacrificed yourself for me, and I receive what you have done. I believe that you died, and on the third day rose from the dead. Forgive my sins and become my Lord and Savior. Thank you

Now that you have believed, what’s next? What’s important now is growing your faith, which happens through the reading, study, and hearing of God’s word. You can start here!

faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17
