But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Hebrews 12:22-24
Our focus is on verse 24. Here we identify 1) Jesus, the Mediator, 2) The New Covenant, 3) The Blood of the Covenant, sprinkling, not silent but constantly speaking or witnessing, 4) the blood of Abel. Abel’s blood was spilled or shed unwillingly by Cain, the Blood of Jesus was shed willingly. He willingly gave His life, and allowed His blood to be poured out for the remission of the sins of the world. So the voice of the blood of our Redeemer, Mediator, and High Priest is actively speaking on our behalf, both before the Mercy Seat and against the unseen evil forces that try to harm us. We have been purchased by the most expensive Blood. May the voice of the Blood of Jesus Christ cry against every evil power that dares to harm you or pull you away from the love of Christ. Amen.
