I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

John the Baptist told the Jews who flocked to his baptism that the Messiah will baptize them not with water as he did but with the Holy Ghost and fire. The metaphor of the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ is unique and very powerful. The purifying power of His word and teachings is like enflaming amber. On the road to Emmaus, the two disciples exclaimed, did not our hearts burn while He expanded unto us the Scriptures! The Lord wants His Church to burn with the fire of evangelism.
